Erin Dunn, Board Member
Erin Dunn is a Field Representative for California State Assembly member Jim Wood, covering Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity counties. Prior to working for the Assembly member, Erin was the CEO of the Fortuna Chamber of Commerce, a position she held for 11 years.
Erin grew up in a small town on the Oregon Coast much like Fortuna and graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Communications.
Before moving to Fortuna in 2003 to work in the Public Relations Department of Pacific Lumber Company, Erin lived and worked on the East Coast for 20 years as a Theatrical Press Agent.
Erin is a member of Fortuna Sunrise Rotary and a Past District Governor for District 5130. In addition to the McLean Foundation, she serves on the board of Ferndale Repertory Theatre.
Jon Sapper, Board Member
Jon was appointed to the McLean Foundation Board in 2006. Born and raised in Fortuna, he spent most of his youth enjoying the area’s wonderful outdoors fishing and hunting. His mother’s family came to the Eel River Valley in the 1860’s and Jon gained an appreciation for the hard work and sacrifices made by his family and others in building our Southern Humboldt communities. Following graduation from college with degrees in business and education, Jon worked for 12 years in Oregon, returning to Humboldt County in 1989. He recently retired as Deputy Superintendent with the Humboldt County Office of Education. In addition to the McLean Foundation, Jon’s community involvement has included being a board member with the Humboldt Area Foundation, the North Coast Small Business Development Center, Headwaters Fund Board and Humboldt County’s Workforce Development Board. Jon is currently Chair of the Board for SHN Consulting Engineers and Geologists. He was previously a board member and past president with Fortuna Sunrise Rotary club. Jon and his wife Sheryl live in Fortuna and are committed to working for the betterment of citizens in the Eel River Valley, Southern Humboldt and throughout the County. Together Jon and Sheryl have four adult children.
Tiara Brown, Board Member
Tiara Brown, was born in Fortuna, and is a 4th generation Humboldt County resident. She is the oldest of three sisters. Her husband is Bradley Brown and they have two children. Tiara is the Business Manager and Human Resources Director at Redwood Preparatory Charter School in Fortuna. She has a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in nonprofit organizations from Sonoma State.
Tiara feels very passionate about being involved in this amazing community. She is a past member of the Fortuna City Counsel and is a current member of the Fortuna Sunrise Rotary. She enjoys planning, organizing, spending time with friends and family, and traveling.
René Imperiale-Egan, Board Member
René Imperiale-Egan is thrilled to have joined the McLean Foundation board as of July 2019. Having been born and raised in Fortuna, René is deeply rooted here and committed to the community. She is also proud to note that she is the granddaughter of the late Gene Lucas, whom the community center is named after.
After graduating from Saint Mary’s College in 1988 with a double major in Economics and Business Administration, René returned to Humboldt County to begin her career in finance. She has been in lending for 31 years and is currently employed by Caliber Home Loans in Eureka.
René, along with husband John and son Jared, currently reside in Fortuna. They enjoy spending their time in the great outdoors, while taking advantage of our beautiful local resources. They also enjoy traveling and are big SF Giants fans. René and her family enjoy being involved in our local community.
Most recently, René served on the Redwood Preparatory Charter School Board and is currently on the Redwood Memorial Foundation fundraising committee. René is looking forward to serving on the McLean Board, and is excited to promote our new beautiful community center.
